Sven Co-op was a pretty fun one. Not much of a mod besides multiplayer campaign, but definitely worth a try if your playing with somebody else.

Actually, I think Sven Co-Op is the only HL mod with servers up right now.

Many of the multiplayer mods are already dead so Ill just recommend single player campaign mods.

My #1 pick would have to be Paranoia

Half Life Redux is The Best i Think.

Well, I heard this one mod Counter Strike was pretty good.

In all seriousness might I recommend Afraid of Monsters. It's a neat horror story and scared the shit out of me multiple times.

Paranoia. Arrangement looks promising, but it's been in development for ages now, noone really knows when it's coming out.

Also BrainBread.

Cry of Fear. It's coming February 22nd, from the same guys that made Afraid of Monsters, looks quite promising, heck, it even has a coop mode :D.

if you're looking for a scare and a moderate story i suggest cry of fear then afraid of monsters also maybe parinoia. Also while im listing get they hunger as well. Oh as well as the halfquake series
