Playing HL mods

I installed it, now how do I play it?

I just installed the Half Life: Black Ops mod, but I don't know how to play it. Help?

    Ok put the mod folder in your source mod folder C:\program files\steam\steamapps(steam name)\source mod then restart steam and it should appear in your steam games menu if you cant start it up make sure you have the right games or fully downloaded and ran at least one time

    That's Source mods. HL isn't for Source.

    That's Source mods. HL isn't for Source.

    Correct.

    You need to have HL1 installed, then put the blackops mod folder in the C:\Program\Steam\Steamapps\your account name\half-life.

    Then restart steam and it should show up on your Steam games list.

    Also, on another topic, here are some other awesome mods you should try out.

    You have to install it differently if you have a non-steam HL1.

    If you're playing HL1 with WON, and if you've installed the mod correctly, you need to start up HL1 and select custom games, and activate the mod from there.

    Put the HL mod folder in the half-life folder of the steamapps to run it from steam, or otherwise do it by WON like he said above your post.
